SWHSPTSO MINUTES
February 7, 2011
Meeting was called to order with the pledge at 4:40. The regular meeting scheduled for Feb 2nd was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Members in attendance – Roxanne Mirch, Lisa Latkowski, Cathleen Breen, Scott Haberli, Annie Hallen and Bonnie Schlott.
Reading of the Minutes – minutes were read, Scott made a motion to approve and Roxanne seconded.
Financial Report – The treasurer’s report was reviewed. The current balance is $4590.50. Cathleen made a motion to approve the report, Scott seconded
Communications – we received information for the Recovery Center regarding a poster contest. Scott said the art teachers receive this information also.
Book Fair - Book fair is set. It will be 3/30 – 4/1/11. Roxanne has volunteers lined up. Scott will complete the building permit.
BLT - The main goal of the BLT is to increase student reading.
Pie Sale 11/23 at Sports Awards - $202.25 was collected
Meet the Graduate 1/11/11 7pm – there was a poor (audience) turnout for the evening presentation. How can we increase participation? The daytime presentations are well received. Perhaps the evening portion can be changed. (Incorporate it into the stakeholders meeting? Combine it with another event?)
Curriculum Night - there was a poor turnout for this event also. We spent $65 for refreshments. Sean Sensiba made a $10 donation. Annie got a list of volunteers.
A donation of $100 to Gabriel Pinciotti was approved. Scott made motion, Roxanne second
Roxanne made a recommendation that we concentrate on two or three major fundraisers a year instead of have many small ones. A penny social, the wreath sale, the clothing drive and maybe one more. Scott is going to check into holding a penny social at the school.
The renewal for the website is due. A one year renewal is $39.95. Roxanne made a motion to renew for one year, Bonnie seconded. Bonnie will renew it and submit a receipt.
Bonnie will get information for a wooden roses Mother’s Day fundraiser.
Roxanne made a motion at 5:30 to adourn, Annie seconded.
Next meeting is March 2
